Charities supported by the 2016 Wirral Christmas Post

Up to 20 charities supported every year

We make it a requirement that, as the stamp money is given by Wirral citizens, all donations given to the Charities are to be spent on the Wirral, or on behalf of Wirral Citizens.

CHILDRENS TODAY CHARITABLE TRUST

Funds specialised equipment (not funded by the public purse) for children with disabilities.

CLATTERBRIDGE HOSPITAL LEAGUE OF FRIENDS

The League has worked tirelessly to provide a link between the public and the hospitals, and to raise money for additional amenities and other services.

DOWN'S SYNDROME @ WIRRAL

Provides support and social opportunities for people with Down’s Syndrome including their families. Providing Christmas parties, Discos, Fun Days together with offering support and advice.

FERRIES FAMILY GROUPS

Providing support to families and individuals, who are struggling, vulnerable and isolated.

G. H. PEERS CLUB, WALLASEY

For the benefit of the locality. Open to all, regardless of race and religion. Ladies are full members. Recreation includes Bowls, Snooker, Whist and Bridge.

THE LUNCHEON CLUB OF LITTLE NESTON METHODIST CHURCH

To provide a hot meal for the senior citizens in Little Neston, a social occasion.

MAGGIES MERSEYSIDE

Gives emotional, social and practical support to people affected by cancer. Maggies Merseyside (at Clatterbridge) have professionals to offer support.

MORETON BOYS' BRIGADE/GIRLS' BRIGADE BAND

Youth Marching Band. To teach young people to play instruments, read music, team work and self-motivation. Our motto is “TEAM” - Together Everyone Achievers More.

NEW BEGINNINGS COUNSELLING FOR WOMEN

Enabling and empowering women to find their voice, to make the most of their lives and be open to opportunity. Often on fringes of society and experiencing extreme deprivation, abuse, emotional problems, homelessness, bereavement. Referred through protection.

NORTHERN LIGHTS

To take children with life limiting illnesses from the North West to Lapland just before Christmas to meet the real Santa Claus.

PARKINSON'S UK - WIRRAL BRANCH

To help the sufferer and their family to relieve some of the suffering and stress it causes.

UK NORTH BLIND SAILING ASSOCIATION

To overcome the social exclusion of blind people in our local community through their involvement in the sport and social activities of sailing.

WALLASEY SEA CADETS

Towards the external refurbishment of their HQ where they inspire young people through nautical adventure and challenge.

WIRRAL CHICS: CHILDREN WITH CANCER SUPPORT GROUP

Run monthly support groups for parents and carers; a buddy service for any new family; monthly outings for children and families; also a high school group who meet monthly for young people and their friends.

WIRRAL COMMUNITY NARROWBOAT TRUST

To provide cruises aboard our 2 narrowboats, specially adapted to carry special-need adults and children for days out enjoying the health benefits of the local canals.

WIRRAL INDEPENDENT LIVING AND LEARNING

24 hour support for adults with learning difficulties living at home.

Community Woodworks CIC

Helping unemployed and disabled young adults acquire joinery skills.

Merseyside Tramway Preservation Society

Preserving and documenting the heritage of Merseyside & the North West Tramways
