Charities supported by the 2017 Wirral Christmas Post

Up to 20 charities supported every year

We make it a requirement that, as the stamp money is given by Wirral citizens, all donations given to the Charities are to be spent on the Wirral, or on behalf of Wirral Citizens.

ALL ABOUT WOMEN

The Charity provides support for women who experience various extremes of mental illness ranging from depression, panic attacks and agoraphobia to more severe illnesses such as bi-polar disorder and schizophrenia. The Charity provides a safe caring environment where the women can talk about their problems with people who genuinely care and generally help them to move forward with their lives.

BARNSTONDALE CENTRE

Providing residential accommodation for children and young people together with a range of activities. To improve self-confidence and build their skills,

CHRISTIANS AGAINST POVERTY (CAP WIRRAL)

To provide those struggling with unmanageable debt a means of working their way out of debt, we have 3 home-visits and in partnership with Head Office (Bradford) give advice and set up a debt management plan. Providing continuous support through a befriending service. We also have 3 social events a year and send people on a short holiday break. The service is free and open to anyone on the Wirral.

CHRISTOPHER SALMON FOUNDATION

The Foundation was set-up on the death of Chris aged 15 in 2009.
Our aims are to raise funds for research into the streptococcal virus, and to run an annual poetry competition run in conjunction with Wirral Library Service.

CLATTERBRIDGE CANCER CHARITY

To enhance patient care, and to fund research to make Clatterbridge a special place.
We have a major impact on 7,000 patients welfare.

DOGS FOR GOOD

Making life changing differences for people with disabilities. We work to support people and communities through the help of a trained dog, improving and enriching the lives of both.

FAMILY PACK PROJECT - CHRIST CHURCH MORETON

To help disadvantaged families in Moreton, enabling them to access free toiletries, clothes, educational toys, stationery and bedding. Referred by local Health Professionals and teaching staff. Have free debt advice, and order free School uniforms.

MOTOR NEURONE DISEASE (M.N.D. WIRRAL)

To fund social group which meets each month, and to support association visitors, visiting those unable to travel.

NATIONAL YOUTH ADVOCACY Co Ltd

To provide support service incl. advocacy and representation for vulnerable children and young people, especially those in care or on the fringes of care.

RADIO CLATTERBRIDGE

To entertain patients on Clatterbridge Health Park Broadcasting 24/7

STICK “N” STEP

Assists children and young people with cerebral palsy with weekly or twice weekly visits to the specialised centre in Wallasey. To help each child to reach their potential.

Hosanna House and Children’s Pilgrimage Trust

Volunteer based charitable organisation. To enable those who need help to experience pilgrimage. Open to all faiths or none.

WIRRAL CONNECT

To support Wirral Connect through targeted services focussed on mentoring, connecting organisations and sectors.

WIRRAL DYSLEXIA ASSOCIATION

Promotion of awareness of Dyslexia. Helping in diagnosing Dyslexia & Helping Dyslexics.

WIRRAL FUND FOR CHILDREN WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

To enrich the lives of children with special needs by providing specialist equipment (not provided by other services)

WIRRAL HEARTBEAT

Patients who have completed their rehabilitation at St Caths Health Centre, following heart attacks, can join Heartbeat at local Fire-Stations.
Heswall, West Kirby, Upton, Wallasey, Bromborough, Ellesmere Port.

WIRRAL HOLISTIC CARE SERVICES

To promote relief of sickness and advance the education of the public by provision of services and resources by means of holistic care.
