Principal Charities

75-80% of all money raised is donated to Wirral Scout and Guide Groups providing #SkillsForLife for over 2000 young people across the Wirral.

Annual Nominated Charities for 2018

We make it a requirement that, as the stamp money is given by Wirral citizens, all donations given to the Charities are to be spent on the Wirral, or on behalf of Wirral Citizens. The following list are our nominated charities for the 2018 scheme.

  • Byrne Avenue Trust

    The Byrne Avenue Baths have been closed for 10 years now. The Trust hopes to open the first part to the Public in March 2019; and re-open the remainder in phases as funds allow.

  • Charles Thompson's Mission

    To help anyone, who is homeless or in need, out of poverty. The Centre is open 6 days/week as a drop-in-centre, and freely provides hot meals, drinks, food parcels, clothing, toiletries, and household items, and Xmas sacks for children.

  • Cruse Bereavement Care

    Offers support, advice and information to bereaved adults with over 450 cases supported on Wirral in 2017/18. Treating emotional well-being, mental and physical health of those who self refer.

  • Family Tree Wirral

    Supply support services to Carers and Families affected by mental health issues. Often the Carer is a member of the Family, thus becoming a 24 hr/ 7day week involvement.

  • Hoylake Cottage

    Hoylake Cottage is a Nursing Home specialising in Dementia Care based in Hoylake. The Cottage is looking to create a Reminiscence Village, with sensory and activity rooms; to create a Chandler’s, Café, Bank, Post Office, Greengrocer’s over the next few years.

  • Hoylake Parade Community Centre

    Community Venue for all local people to access public services and classes for all ages; recreation, exercise & lifelong learning.

  • iPLANit Kids

    iPLANit Kids is a non-profit organisation that delivers Educational Trips for Vulnerable, Abused and Disabled Children on the Wirral.

  • Maggie's Merseyside

    Maggie's Merseyside provides free practical, emotional and social support to anyone affected by cancer, including friends and family. Qualified professionals on hand to offer an evidenced based care programme of support. Supported over 37,000 people since opening in 2014.

  • Mersey Counselling Therapy Centre (MCTC)

    The MCTC provides full professional low cost & no cost counselling and psychotherapy including 24/7 suicide prevention care for anyone in need.

  • Multiple Sclerosis Society Wirral

    We try to reach people affected by MS on the Wirral with a Support Team who do home visits and encourage people to join Wellbeing and TaiChi classes and run monthly MS nurse clinics.

  • Ronald McDonald House, Arrowe Park

    Ronald McDonald House is a free “home away from home accommodation” and support for families of very ill and mostly premature babies. Treating up to 400 premature babies each year.

  • Royal National Lifeboat Institution, New Brighton

    The RNLI exists to save lives at sea and the New Brighton branch, founded in 1863, is currently fundraising to build a new boathouse.

  • Wirral Community Narrowboat Trust

    Using our two specially designed narrowboats, we offer cruises to mainly disabled disadvantaged vulnerable adults and children. We are raising funds to repair the older boat “Pot of Gold” which needs to be completely stripped down and repainted.

  • Wirral Disabled Integrated Social Club

    We provide weekly meeting and social activities for Disabled people on the Wirral.

  • Wirral Hospice St John's

    We are an adult hospice that provides FREE care for patients with life-limiting illnesses including cancer, heart, liver and kidney disease, respiratory and neurological conditions. As well as caring for our patients, we also provide support for carers and loved ones: families are at the heart of everything we do here at Wirral Hospice St John’s.
